Jamie Yarow-Marchis AKA ShadowExecutive Director

Jamie has been working summer camps since 1979 without a summer off. It is safe to say that she has worked every job that camp has to offer. She has been the Executive Director of Fun Under The Sun for over 30 years. Many of her camper’s children now attend Fun Under The Sun.

Jamie’s motto is “The Friends you make at camp are friends for life”. When not at camp jamie enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Jamie has a degree in Communications from California State University, Northridge

Traci AKA CupcakeCamp Supervisor

Traci started her camp experience as a camper and a LIT (Leader in Training). After years of being a camp counselor and attending USC, she began her career in the food industry where she stayed until she started her family. Now that her children are all attending Fun Under The Sun, she returned to camp in her role as Director.

At FUTS she is able to combine her love of children with her love for fun. She has helped implement many new programs including our yearly Luau and many of favorite camp recipes used in cooking are from her days as Cooking Specialist. When she is not working camp she writes poems and speeches for special events.

Jordan AKA JdawgDirector

Jordan joined the FUTS family in 2010 working in extended day care. In 2011, she became the Sports Director where she held that position for 6 years.until becoming a co-director. She has Master’s degree in Teaching from USC and currently teaches 6th grade science.

When she is not working camp she enjoys snowboarding, hanging out with family/ friends, and all things fitness related!

Preston AKA JediDirector

Jedi started his camp career as a camper at the age of Five! His love of camp made him a natural for working at FUTS! He started as a Junior Counselor and when he was old enough became an Office Clerk and Counselor. This year he will be our newest Director and is excited to work with the staff, campers and their parents. Jedi is currently in his third year at the University of California, Santa Barbara where he is studying Communications and History. In his free time, he enjoys playing and watching sports, spending time with family and friends, and traveling to new places.

Alyssa AKA BambiDirector

Alyssa joined the FUTS family in 2013. This summer will be her 11th year. She has had various positions over the years. She started as a junior counselor and worked her way up to a counselor, pack leader, and coding specialist.. This year Alyssa is excited to return as a director.

Alyssa received her BA in Communication Studies from California State University, Northridge. She currently works as a 4th grade teacher at an elementary school.

Nevaeh AKA Curly Pack Leader

Curly was a camper at FUTS for many years and she always said she was going to work here when she grew up. She was an L.I.T and Teen Travel and came back to bless us being a counselor last year. She is in her 3rd year of college studying Athletic Training and soon to run her own physical therapy. She is super excited for this summer as she wishes to give the kids the best experience just like she had when she was a camper !

Corran AKA TarzanPack Leader

Tarzan’s camp experience began when he attended Cub Scout camp and continued when he became a member of the FUTS Staff in 2022. Rounding his third year, he will return to camp this summer as Upper Pack Leader.

During the school year, Tarzan works in the grip and electric department on various productions in Los Angeles and furthers his skills at Cal State Northridge where he studies film in their cinema and television arts program. In his free time, he enjoys the pleasures of travel, family gatherings, writing, and photography.

With summer closing in, Tarzan can’t wait to engage with returning campers and new ones in fun-filled activities and adventures!

Maite AKA Stingray Teen Travel Pack Leader

Stingray started as a camp counselor at FUTS in 2019. She is now a Pack Leader for Teen Travel. She is looking forward to making more memories with new campers as well as returning campers. Stingray has a passion with working with kids!

When Stingray is not at camp she works at an after school program helping kids with homework and doing fun activities! On her free time she loves to play tennis, Fun fact…she was also on the schools tennis team when she was in high school as number 2 singles!
